Anti-Trump Democrat was previously against impeaching a president
Anti-Trump Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), one of the driving forces behind the push to impeach President Donald Trump, argued in 1998 that impeachment “is an undoing of a national election.”
And yet despite lacking any definitive crime, Nadler, now the House Judiciary Committee chairman, is gunning for impeaching President Trump.
Speaking during an interview in September, Nadler told WNYC that “Impeachment is imperative not because [Trump’s] going to be removed from office.
“The Senate won’t do that. But because we have to vindicate the Constitution.”
But, back in 1998, when it was former President Bill Clinton‘s neck on the chopping block, Nadler declared the impeachment of a democratically elected president “an undoing of a national election.”

“And one of the reasons we all feel so angry about what they are doing is that … they are ripping asunder our votes,” Nadler continued in his powerful defence of President Clinton.
“They are telling us our votes don’t count and the election must be set aside.”

It’s been three years since Donald Trump‘s surprise victory over Hillary Clinton.
Three years since Democrats have been floating impeachment to undo a national election.
In September, Trump slammed Nadler and other anti-Trump Democrats pushing for his impeachments, such as Reps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Adam Schiff (D-CA).
Trump accused leading Democratic impeachment proponents of stalling progress and acting like “savages.”
“Can you imagine if these Do Nothing Democrat Savages, people like Nadler, Schiff, AOC Plus 3, and many more, had a Republican Party who would have done to Obama what the Do Nothings are doing to me. Oh well, maybe next time!” he tweeted.

Trump was specifically taking aim at Nadler, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, and the “AOC Squad“ of progressive freshman congresswomen led by Ocasio-Cortez.
