Bette Midler Tweets ‘DEBUNKED’ Trump Quote, Gets Shredded on Twitter

Liberal actress under fire for sharing debunked quote of the president

Liberal left-wing actress Bette Midler faced backlash on Twitter for sharing a fake Donald Trump quote which falsely claimed that he mocked Republican supporters before running for president.

The quote was debunked as fake four years ago, which begs the question of why Midler didn’t do some research before posting it.

The fake Trump quote is as follows:

“If I were to run, I’d run as a Republican. They’re the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie, and they’d still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific.”

Midler captioned: “He certainly knew his crowd” along with fake Trump quote.

But the 73-year-old actress came under fire as followers began pointing out it was fake.

“This is a blatant fake and a blatant lie,” wrote filmmaker Robby Starbuck.

“Even left-wing fact-checking site Snopes had debunked it.”

Journalist Rita Panahi asked, “Why are you circulating a fake quote to your moronic followers?”

Even the biased ‘fact checking’ site Snopes wrote:

“Despite People‘s comprehensive online content archive, we found no interview or profile on Donald Trump in 1998 (or any other time) that quoted his saying anything that even vaguely resembled the words in this meme.”

“Trump appeared somewhat regularly in the magazine’s pages before he came to star on The Apprentice, but the bulk of the magazine’s celebrity-driven coverage of him back then centered on his marriages too and divorces from, Ivana Trump and Marla Maples,” the website added.

Last month, Midler called on Georgia’s women to “stop having sex with men” in protest against the state’s “Heartbeat” bill that prohibits abortions if a fetal heartbeat is detected.

Bette Midler said in a tweet:

“I hope the #womenofGeorgia stop having sex with men until these indignities are overturned.

“The new law named the Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act (HB 481), prohibits abortions if a heartbeat is detected, which is usually around six weeks into pregnancy.
