Border Patrol Busts Suspected Human Trafficking Operation in Texas Hotel

The immigrants were from El Salvador, Honduras, and Mexico

Texas Border Patrol agents discovered a hotel room packed with illegal immigrants who were waiting to be smuggled into the interior of United States.

A hotel in Edinburg was being used to hold illegal immigrants, according to tip-off received by Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents.

The city is located in southern Texas close to the Mexico border.

Agents witnessed two individuals entering the hotel with several jugs of water and groceries.

After surveilling the hotel, agents determined it was being used to harbor illegal immigrants, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection

After the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office carried out a welfare check, they found over 10 people in the room.

The immigrants were from El Salvador, Honduras, and Mexico, the CBP said.

The migrants said they had been waiting to be transported further into the U.S. for nearly 30 days.

McAllen Border Patrol Station agents in Hidalgo found more migrants including an unaccompanied child, using a storm drain to enter the U.S illegally.

MCS agents and the Hidalgo Police Department arrested about 10 people using the storm drain.

The CBP said migrants apprehended at the hotel room are now being processed.

The news comes just days after Republican Gov. Greg Abbott was forced to send in Texas law enforcement officials to secure the Del Rio area.

Texas law enforcement officials now appear to have taken control of the situation in Del Rio.

The move comes after the Biden administration repeatedly failed to stop tens of thousands of migrants from entering the United States illegally.

“The Texas Department of Public Safety is in full force along the border around the Del Rio area,” Governor Abbott said in a tweet.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed the administration during a trip to the site late this week, saying that “Biden could end this tomorrow by simply following the law and reinstating deportation flights back.”

Meanwhile, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said the border crisis is “exactly” what Biden wants.

“That’s the type of message he has been sending since day one of his administration.”
