Wikileaks founder has lived in the London Embassy since 2012, maybe soon pushed out

The British government is making moves to remove Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, from the Embassy of Ecuador in London according to developing reports.

Assange, who has lived in the London Embassy since 2012, maybe soon pushed out due to his freedom being restricted to such an extent that he cannot stay.

Ecuador’s recently-elected President Lenin Moreno is now increasing mounting pressure from the from the United States and Madrid after he expressed support for Catalonia’s separatists. Julian Assange 

In March, Ecuador announced it has cut all of Julian Assange’s communications leaving the Wikileaks founder unable to interact with the outside world according to reports.

The Ecuadorian government said in a statement that Assange’s communications would be cut in order to stop him interfering with other countries affairs.

The Statement read:

“The measure was adopted due to Assange not complying with a written promise which he made with the government in late 2017, by which he was obliged not to send messages which entailed interference in relation to other states.”

SputnickNews reports: Assange is fearing extradition to the United States, where the authorities are looking into WikiLeaks activities.

The whistleblowing site has released a large number of documents that allegedly originated from various US government agencies, including diplomatic cables and CIA internal documents.

The UK police originally detained Assange in 2010 over sexual assault investigation led in Sweden, then released him on bail.

The WikiLeaks founder breached the bail conditions and asked the Ecuadorian Embassy for asylum.

The Swedish authorities announced last year that they had dropped the investigation into sexual assault claims against Assange, but the UK police said the arrest warrant on the activist remained in force, because of his failure to comply with bail conditions.
