The spiritual leader says ‘Europe is for Europeans’
Buddhist spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has warned that if too many migrants are allowed to stay in Europe, it will become “Muslim” or “African,” insisting that “Europe is for Europeans.”
The spiritual leader, who has been living as a refugee in India since escaping Tibet in 1959, told the BBC that only a “limited number” of migrants should be permitted to reside in Europe.
He added that Europe should take in refugees and offer them an education, but then be return4ed to their homelands.
“European countries should take these refugees and give them education and training; then the aim is return to their own land,” he said.
When the BBC asked what would happen if migrants want to stay in their adopted countries, the Dalai Lama replied:
“A limited number is OK, but whole Europe eventually become Muslim country? Impossible. Or African country? Also impossible.”
When asked what the problem with Europe becoming Muslim or African was, he said:
“They themselves I think better to their own land. Keep Europe for Europeans.”
The Tibetan leader voiced similar opinions in a speech last year in Malmo, Sweden:
“Receive them, help them, educate them, but ultimately they should develop their own country,” he said at the time.
“I think Europe belongs to the Europeans.”
Danish politician Marie Krarup echoed the Dalai Lama’s remarks by blasting Sweden over its immigration policies during a recent interview.
Speaking to Swedish news magazine Fokus, Krarup, from the Danish People’s Party (DPP), slammed Sweden’s attitude toward mass-migration as “dangerous.”
Krarup went as far as to predict that Sweden’s open-border policy will “fail” and cause the Scandinavian country to “become an Arab Middle Eastern country.”
“When Sweden fails and stops being Swedish, it will affect the rest of us too,” she told Fokus.
