Democrat Staffers Caught on Video Admitting They Lied About Kavanaugh Support

Tennessee Democratic senatorial candidate Phil Bredesen’s staff caught on secret camera

A bombshell new video by investigative journalist James O’Keefe has exposed Democratic senatorial candidate Phil Bredesen for lying to voters about support for Justice Kavanaugh after staffers were caught on hidden camera making the glaring admissions.

Bredesen’s staffers admitted to O’Keefe’s undercover reporters that their Democrat boss was lying to voters about supporting Kavanaugh as he believed it would help him to win over some of the moderate Republican votes.

In the covertly recorded exchange, two of Bredesen’s campaign staffers explain that showing public support to vote to confirm Kavanaugh was just a “political move.”

According to the staffers, Bredesen felt this lie was necessary because he was Trailing behind Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn by 8 points and a large majority of Tennesseans were backing Kavanaugh to be confirmed for the Supreme Court.

“Like, he wouldn’t really vote yes [for Kavanaugh,] would he?” an undercover reporter asked.

No, it’s a political move,” said one of Bredesen’s field organizers.

“He thinks that, like, we’re down like half a point right now.

“It’s, like, really close and we’re losing by a point or two.

“So he thinks that if, like, by saying this he’s appealing to more moderate Republicans and he’ll get more of them to vote for us.”

“I was so confused because I just can’t believe he would actually vote [for Kavanaugh],” said the reporter.

“He wouldn’t,” said another staffer.

“But he’s saying he would … Which I don’t know if it makes it worse or better.

“No, it makes it better … “

According to the Daily Wire, when the reporter asked the first staffer if Bredesen’s claim that he’d vote for Kavanaugh was simply an attempt to “get the Republican vote,” she said, “Yes.”

“He thought that like by coming out in support [of Justice Kavanaugh] that it would get more Republicans on his side,” she explained.

“He wasn’t doing as well in the rural parts.”

Bredesen has received some more buzz recently after singer Taylor Swift came out in support of him, the first time she’s ever publicly supported a political candidate.

Despite Bredesen’s claim that he would support Kavanaugh, the “Kavanaugh Effect” appears to be hitting him particularly hard.

After leading several polls prior to Democrats promoting uncorroborated accusations against Kavanaugh, the Democrat now trails by 5 points and 8 points in two recent polls by Fox News and CBS News/YouGov, respectively.
