2020 Democrat dodges questions about government confiscating firearms from citizens
During Wednesday night’s Democrat candidates’ debate, 2020 hopeful Elizabeth Warren refused to rule out that she would confiscate guns from law-abiding American citizens if she becomes president.
The Democratic presidential candidate refused to say whether she would have the government go door-to-door and confiscate semi-automatic firearms when pressed on the matter.
NBC’s Chuck Todd asked Warren the question, and, when she dodged answering it, he pressed her about it again.
“You didn’t address, do you think the federal government needs to go and figure out a way to get the guns?” Todd again pressed Warren.
Warren again refused to answer, saying that gun violence needed to be treated as “a serious research problem.”

Democrats have been making growing calls to confiscate guns and repeal the Second Amendment of late.
In November last year, Rep. Eric Swalwell, another 2020 Democrat, caused outrage after calling for the government to confiscate guns from Americans and kill those citizens who resist with nuclear weapons.
While pushing his far-left gun control agenda, Swalwell warned that he is pushing for the unconstitutional confiscation of semi-automatic weapons, saying, “the government has nukes,” suggesting they could be used against those who don’t comply.

More recently, in May this year, leading 2020 Dem Joe Biden claimed that the Second Amendment doesn’t say that Americans are “entitled” to own guns as he reaffirmed his position concerning the Constitution for his presidential run.
The former vice president admitted that the “Second Amendment exists” but argued during a speech at a campaign stop in New Hampshire that it doesn’t say that Americans are “entitled” to own a gun.
In March this year, radical celebrity Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called for a firearms ban in the United States while championing government confiscation of guns from law-abiding citizens.
New York Democrat Ocasio-Cortez made the calls following New Zealand’s introduction of sweeping new gun laws in response to the horrific shooting attacks at two Christchurch mosques.
NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced her country’s new ban on “military-style” weapons, which includes government confiscation of nearly all semi-automatic firearms.
AOC celebrated the announcement by calling for the US to follow suit by introducing the same strict gun-control measures, despite the move meaning the government was going to be confiscating firearms from law-abiding citizens.
