Ex-White House Doctor: Trump ‘Acted Quickly and Decisively’ on Tackling Coronavirus

Dr. Ronny Jackson praises Trump administrations guidelines

Former White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson praised Donald Trump following his announcement of guidelines he and the coronavirus task force put together to slow the spread of the pandemic within 15 days.

Speaking on “Hannity,” Jackson said:

“The president has done everything he needed to do in this case.”

“He’s acted quickly and decisively. He did what he always has done … he went with his instincts,” he added.

“He put together a top-notch team, and he was criticized…. despite that, he carried on and did what he needed to do for our country. He put the [China] travel ban in place,” he continued.

Jackson anticipated the spread of the virus would not be as bad as places like Italy and Iran due to Trump’s “quick and decisive actions,” along with his decision to restrict travel into the U.S. from China in January.

“What’s going on in Italy and Iran is not going to happen here I think, because of the president’s quick and decisive actions,” Jackson said.

“I think we are going to be more in line with what’s going on in South Korea and things of that nature,” Jackson added.

He continued:

“We are going to see that we got on it early … the president stopped it quickly, and it’s going to save countless American lives.”

“I am proud that he’s acted so quickly and decisively in all of this.”

Jackson praised the coronavirus task force, urging Americans to “follow their instructions.”

“We are going to be okay,” he said.

HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson also backed the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, urging people to work together to tackle the outbreak.

Carson urged people to keep their hands clean and obey government advice, or they are “creating part of the problem.”

“The president has an excellent perspective. And, you know, early on, when a lot of people were saying, ‘No, you can’t impose a travel ban,’ you know, he stood largely alone, courageously recognizing what the consequences would be if we had all these vectors of disease transferred to our country,” Carson told host Sean Hannity.

“And there will be other tough decisions. He’s willing to make those decisions,” he said.

“And that makes a huge difference.”
