GoFundMe Campaign to Build Trump’s Border Wall Skyrockets Past $11 Million

Fund set up to pay for border wall construction spirals into millions of dollars

A GoFundMe campaign, set up by a patriotic veteran to fund President Trump’s proposed wall along the US Southern Border, has skyrocketed past $11 million as donations from American citizens flood in.

At the time of press, the fund was over $11m, up around $6 million since Thursday evening.

As you read this, the campaign will likely have shot up way beyond these numbers, however, and multiple contributions pour in every second.

The campaign, entitled, We The People will Fund The Wall was started on Sunday by Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee who lost both legs and an arm while serving in Iraq.

The page reached the $1 million mark Wednesday night and surpassed $5 million on Thursday early afternoon.

Following Kolfage’s guest appearance on Laura Ingraham’s show on Fox, the donations boomed and it flew past the $10 million mark early on Friday.

Having passed the $10 million mark, the fundraiser has now raised over 1 percent of its $1 billion goal.

As of Friday morning, over 180,000 people have donated to the page.

One anonymous person contributed $50,000 to the cause.

That person is one of six who donated at least $10,000.

The campaign will come as a blow to anti-Trump Democrats who are digging their heels in over the wall’s required funding.

Trump is demanding $5 billion to build the southern border wall with Mexico and may be forced to shut down the government if he can’t get the funding.

The move, once again, shows that Dems are ignoring the will of the people in a bid to instead prioritize their own liberal agenda.

The campaign launched on Sunday as it seems less likely that Congress will approve the president’s request for $5 billion to construct the border wall.

“It’s up to Americans to help out and pitch in to get this project rolling,” the GoFundMe campaign page reads.

“If the 63 million people who voted for Trump each pledge $80, we can build the wall.”

The fundraising page claims to have contacted the Trump Administration to secure a point of contact where all the funds will go, but adds it has “many very high-level contacts already helping.”

“As a veteran who has given so much, 3 limbs, I feel deeply invested to this nation to ensure future generations have everything we have today,” the page says, elaborating on Kolfage’s history as a Purple Heart Medal recipient.

The married father-of-two lost both legs and his right arm in a 2004 insurgent attack in Iraq.

“Too many Americans have been murdered by illegal aliens and too many illegals are taking advantage of the United States taxpayers with no means of ever contributing to our society,” it continues.

Kolfage says his grandparents immigrated to the US legally, adding, “they did it the correct way and it’s time we uphold our laws and get this wall BUILT!”

“It’s up to Americans to help out and pitch in to get this project rolling,” the page says.

Meanwhile, President Trump on Wednesday claimed the military would build his border wall and Mexico would pay for it – indirectly under the new trade agreement.

“Mexico is paying (indirectly) for the Wall through the new USMCA, the replacement for NAFTA! Far more money coming to the U.S. Because of the tremendous dangers at the Border, including large scale criminal and drug inflow, the United States Military will build the Wall!,” he tweeted.
