‘Where is AOC? Where is Elizabeth Warren?’ Republican senator asks
Sen. Lindsey Graham warned Democrats that Republicans would “shut down” the Senate if they are denied access to U.S.-Mexico Border Patrol facilities.
“I am going down [to the border] with 18 senators Friday, and if I’m denied the ability to look into any place I want to go, we’re going to shut the Senate down,” Graham told Fox News.
“Where are all the liberal hypocrites?”
“Where is AOC? Where is Elizabeth Warren? Where is Vice President Harris, who basically protested outside of a facility—in Homestead, Florida during the Trump years—holding migrant children?”
Graham referred to both Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who took part in a photo op crying outside a Tornillo, Texas, migrant children detention center in 2018.
“All I can say is, I’m going down with 18 senators; if they deny me the ability to go where I want to go and see what I want to see, we’re going to shut the Senate down.”
There are now over 16,000 migrant children currently in U.S. custody, with Border Patrol holding 5,000, data from the agency revealed.
Meanwhile, White House officials blamed Donald Trump and his policies for the influx in migration.
But they failed to mention that Biden invited the migrants.
“It is especially challenging and difficult now because the entire system under United States law that has been in place throughout administrations of both parties was dismantled in its entirety by the Trump administration,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told ABC News over the weekend.
“So we are rebuilding the system as we address the needs of vulnerable children who arrive at our borders.”
Biden’s executive actions to rescind some of Trump’s immigration orders, including the “Remain in Mexico” policy and halting construction of the border wall, are what the Democrats are ignoring.
A leaked document revealed the Biden administration’s cage-like border facilities are holding migrant children for over a week beyond the maximum legal limit.
The leak from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was obtained by Axios and showed thousands of migrant kids are being held in overcrowded facilities.
The docs reveal that 823 minors have been kept in the “cages” for over ten days.
