Liberal Media Praises #MeToo Villain Matt Damon as He Bashes Kavanaugh

Actor who tried to cover Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconducted, now celebrated by left

Liberalism is a fickle way of life and far from an exclusive club, it seems.

For the last couple of years, mindless Trump-bashing has been the latest craze to sweep America, and beyond.

And joining the club is easy: Just pop on a t-shirt that says “DUMP TRUMP” or something similar, turn up to some unhinged leftist rally, then upload a photo of your self to Instagram and all your liberal friends will think you’re an “activist” and sooo cooool.

Now it appears as though Trump has a rival for the role as “number one enemy of the left,” as Judge Brett Kavanaugh becomes the new villain of choice used to gain liberal acceptance.

Earlier this year, Hollywood actor Matt Damon vowed to take a “back seat” in the “#MeToo” movement after it was revealed that he tried to help Harvey Weinstein cover-up his crimes by pressuring the New York Times to kill a 2004 investigative story into movie mogul’s sexual misconduct.

How could Matt Damon ever be taken seriously again after such shocking revelations?

That’s easy: Just perform a Kavanaugh-bashing sketch on Saturday Night Live and all will be forgiven.

Damon’s one-sided portrayal of last Thursday’s hearing in which he characterized an out-of-control, and self-incriminating, Kavanaugh saw the former villain transformed and celebrated as a hero by the left.

The liberal media couldn’t get enough:

According to Breitbart, Damon, who enjoyed a longtime association with Weinstein, admitted in October 2017 that he knew that Weinstein had allegedly harassed actress Gwyneth Paltrow and that he was an “a**hole” who was a “womanizer” — though he denied knowing about Weinstein’s criminal conduct.

He also denied helping to kill a Times story about Weinstein, saying that while he had called the newspaper at Weinstein’s behest to defend a producer who was said to have set up Weinstein’s encounters with women, he did not know Weinstein’s purpose.

He also provoked controversy by appearing to defend Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) after a photograph showing then-comedian Franken jokingly reaching for journalist Leann Tweeden’s breasts.

Damon also spurred outrage by suggesting that he would still work with comedian Louis C.K., who was accused of masturbating in front of several women.

Following those controversies, Damon told the Today show, “A lot of those women are my dear friends and I love them and respect them and support what they’re doing and want to be a part of that change and want to go along for the ride, but I should get in the back seat and close my mouth for a while.”

But Damon has apparently earned a free pass, simply by mocking Kavanaugh.

Critics of the judge celebrated his portrayal of the Supreme Court nominee, whom the left presumes guilty despite every witness contradicting Ford’s testimony.

The sketch also portrayed Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) as having made up his mind before the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford —  “I already voted yes for Kavanaugh before she said a word” — though most of the committee’s Democrats had in fact decided to vote against Kavanaugh long before Ford’s accusations arose, and several Republicans pointedly kept an open mind.

The sketch also described prosecutor Rachel Mitchell as a female “human shield.”

Liberalism is fickle.
