Liberal Pastor Compares ICE Raids to Jesus Christ’s Crucifixion

Rev. Dr. William Barber brands Trump and his allies as ‘evil’

A liberal pastor and leader of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has compared President Donald Trump‘s coming ICE raids to that of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and slavery.

Rev. Dr. William Barber said that Trump and his allies are “evil” regarding the raids.

Barber, who is a frequent MSNBC guest, made the comparison on Twitter.

“I don’t know how long evil will last, but I know this: after Pharaoh oppressed, he lost,” Barber tweeted.

“After Rome crucified Jesus, they lost. After slaveholders doubled down, they lost.”

“Trump & his enablers may have the power to execute #ICEraids, but this will backfire,” he added.

“He will lose.”

Barbers’ remarks come after reports state that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency are poised to start its planned mass deportations of illegal aliens across ten major cities in the United States this week.

“No matter what day Trump & his enablers plan to start family raids, it’s immoral, evil & unjust. But to start on Sunday is sacrilegious!” he added in another tweet.

Barber described the enforcement of federal immigration law as “Trump’s racist attacks on Latino immigrants,” in a third tweet, totally voiding the difference between legal and illegal immigrants.

Barber has been a vocal critic of Trump’s policies since 2017.

ICE officials will begin the operation on Sunday, July 14 and forcefully deport at least 2,000 illegal aliens with final deportation orders, according to the NY Times.

Last week, Ken Cuccinelli told CBS that illegal aliens with final orders for deportation would soon be deported by ICE, despite President Trump’s delay two weeks ago.ICE agents are now prepared to detain roughly 1 million illegal aliens.

Trump, last month, delayed a plan by ICE to mass deport about 2,000 illegal aliens who had final deportation orders after details of the operation were leaked to the media.

Former ICE Director Thomas Homan, as well as other DHS staffers, accused Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan of leaking the plans of the ICE raid to halt the operation.
