German chancellor Angela Merkel was greeted with boos, Hitler salutes and screams of ‘go away’ as she arrived for Dresden, Saxony for the women’s network meeting.
A massive demonstration was launched outside the Albertinum, where Angela Merkel was guest of honor at the meeting on Monday evening.
Around fifty people shouted “go away” and “Merkel must go,” with one protester giving a Nazi salute.
Another demonstrator threw a plastic bottle at a media representative and is now being investigated for attempted grievous bodily harm.

Merkel arrived in Dresden on Monday to attend a women’s network meeting, where she delivered a speech for equality everywhere.
The German movement Pegida, which stands for Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the Occident, held the rally at the event as dozens booed the Chancellor’s arrival.
Pegida leader Lutz Bachmann announced the demonstration earlier that day.
About 50 people gathered outside where Ms. Merkel was located with police initiating preliminary proceedings against three participants.
One protester who o imitated the Hitler salute is being investigated for the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations.
The news comes a month after Merkel was caught uncontrollably shaking for the second time amid growing concerns for her health.

Earlier this month, Merkel was caught uncontrollably shaking at an official ceremony welcoming Ukraine’s new president Volodymyr Zelensky, which she later laughed off as ‘dehydration.’
The new footage shows, Merkel, 64, trembling while she met President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, but her spokesman insisted she was ‘fine.’
According to the NHS, ‘shivering’ is not listed as a known symptom of dehydration.
Earlier this month, Merkel was pressed on her health by a reporter.’
Since then, I’ve drunk at least three glasses of water, which I apparently needed, and now I’m doing very well,’ she said.
Merkel, who turns 65 next month, said she was fine when asked if her shaking was a cause for concern.
Zelensky made light of Merkel’s uneasy spell, saying he would have come to her rescue if necessary.
The 41-year-old said: ‘She was standing next to me and completely safe.’
