Mother stabbed and killed man who raped her – sentenced to 10 1/2 years in prison by judge

A woman has been jailed for 10 1/2 years for killing her alleged rapist by stabbing him in the heart and penis after he allegedly threatened her daughter.

35-year-old mom Roxanne Eka Peters, was sentenced to ten-and-a-half years on Monday for killing 51-year-old Grant Jason Cassar.

Peters claims Cassar raped her and threatened to harm her daughter if she didn’t have sex with him again.

The Supreme Court in Brisbane, Australia heard that after killing him, Peters, from Capalaba in Queensland, dragged Cassar’s dead body behind her car for a few miles before hiding him by a ditch on 4 December 2015.

According to Metro, Cassar’s body was found the following day with over 60 injuries, as well as 4in knife-wounds to his heart and genitals.

Peters claimed Cassar had tied her up and sexually abused, according to 9 News.

Just days after the alleged attack, a court heard how he had broken into her home and asked to do a “meth cook-up.”

Prosecutor David Nardone said when Peters, who is also said to be addicted to drugs, declined his request he went on to threaten her daughter if she didn’t have sex with him.

The court heard how Peters grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him while screaming “you don’t rape me.”

She is then said to have asked a friend to help her move the body, but when they refused she tied him to her car and dumped it at a semi-rural road.

Justice David Boddice told the Supreme Court in Brisbane:

“I accept the stabbing occurred in circumstances when you were enraged by what the deceased had done to you and was threatening to do to you again.

“It was, however, to Peters’ detriment that she didn’t immediately seek help after the stabbing.

“Instead, you set about the process of callously disposing of the deceased body.”

She was given nine years for manslaughter and a further 18 months after she was found guilty of interfering with his corpse.

However, she will be eligible for parole in June 2020, according to local reports.
