NY Police Allowed Jeffrey Epstein To Skip Court-Ordered Check-ins For 8 Years

Epstein missed 34 check-ins with law enforcement

Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was allowed to skip check in with law enforcement every 90 days after New York Police Department failed to enforce 2011, according to reports.

Before his arrest on Saturday, Epstein missed 34 check-ins, according to the New York Post.

Epstein was required to check in with NYPD to confirm the address of his $77 million New York house.

But failing to do that as Level 3 sex offender, Epstein risked violating the state’s 1996 Sex Offender Registration Act.

According to a court hearing in 2011, New York state Supreme Court Justice Ruth Pickholz rejected the defense attorney’s arguments that because Epstein’s New York home is a “vacation residence,” he should be exempt from the statute.

“I am sorry he may have to come here every 90 days,” Pickholz said.

“He can give up his New York home if he does not want to come every 90 days.”

But state prosecutors and police officials have given conflicting reasons why Epstein was allowed to evade the law.

The above could have been used as grounds to arrest the 66-year-old billionaire.

The 66-year-old Clintons financier was taken into custody by federal investigators as his plane landed at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey on Saturday night as the FBI raided his New York mansion during the early hours of Sunday.

Epstein was charged with sex trafficking on Saturday by federal prosecutors with the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan and will make his first court appearance on Monday in New York, according to reports.

Epstein has reportedly been the subject of an investigation of unknown charges by the Southern District of New York for the last few months.

The close friend of former President Bill Clinton was taken into custody during a dramatic tarmac arrest after his private jet touched down from France on Saturday.

Around the same time, and for several hours after, FBI agents were seen breaking down the door to his Upper East Side mansion to execute a search warrant in the case.
