Democrat House speaker calls for president’s removal from office
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has declared that President Donald Trump must be removed from office.
The Democrat leader accused the president of committing “an assault on our nation” and demanded his removal either by Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinet or by impeachment.
Pelosi is threatening to impeach Trump a second time unless his cabinet invokes the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday Pelosi warned: “If the vice president and the cabinet do not act, the Congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment.
“That is the overwhelming sentiment of my caucus and the American people,” she continued.
“I join the Senate Democratic leader in calling on the vice president to remove this president by immediately invoking the 25th amendment.”
“If the vice president and cabinet do not act the Congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment,” the speaker added.
“He must be removed from office.”
“While it is only 13 days left, any day can be a horror show for America.”
Pelosi acknowledged that there were growing calls among her own membership as well as her constituents for impeachment.
However, she said the effort is focused on pressuring Vice President Pence and the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him.

Meanwhile, several Democratic lawmakers are threatening their own push to impeach the president.
On Wednesday, far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) demanded President Trump’s impeachment to “save the Republic.”
Omar, a member of AOC’s “Squad” of radical Democrats, announced that she is drawing up articles of impeachment against Trump.
The Minnesota lawmaker argues that the president needs to be “removed from office.”
“I am drawing up Articles of Impeachment. Donald J. Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives & removed from office by the United States Senate,” Omar tweeted Wednesday.
“We can’t allow him to remain in office, it’s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath” she added.
