2020 Hopeful downplays globals superpower taking advantage of US
President Donald Trump blasted 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden’s recent comments, in which he seemingly downplayed China’s threat to the U.S, as “naive” and “very dumb.”
Speaking with Fox News’s Catherine Herridge, Trump called out the former vice president for not seeing how China is taking advantage of the United States.
“He is very naive about China. Right now we lose $500 billion. After I sign the deal, it won’t be anything like that.
“China, during the Obama years in particular, just took advantage of our country so badly.”
“Very, very big competition, China. I’ve stopped it. And I am stopping it,” Trump continued.
“During the course of two-and-a-half years, we’ve gone up $17 trillion in value.
“China has gone down $17 trillion. China, as you know, has taken a very, very big hit because of the tariffs and everything else I’ve imposed.
“We’ll see whether or not we have a deal, we have a very good chance at a great deal.
“For somebody to be so naive and say China is not a problem, if Biden actually said that, that is a very dumb statement.”
Biden’s recent comment about China, a during a campaign event in Iowa City, prompted Herridge’s questions.
“China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man,” Biden stated at the event.
“They’re not competition for us.”
“They can’t even figure out how to deal with the fact that they have this great division between the China Sea and the mountains in the east, I mean in the west,” Biden continued.
“They can’t figure out how they are going to deal with the corruption that exists within the system. I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they’re not competition for us.”
Biden’s comments are the polar opposite to Trump, who has worked tirelessly to negotiate a trade deal with the country.
But Biden’s family’s business dealings with China’s government mean that he is “compromised by a foreign power and unfit to be president,” according to a report by Fox News’s Steve Hilton.
On Sunday, Hilton reported on an investigation by Peter Schweizer of business dealings between Biden’s family and the Chinese.
The probe by investigative journalist Schweizer alleges that Biden’s second son, Hunter Biden, secured $1 billion in financing from the Chinese government-controlled Bank of China for a private equity firm founded by himself and former Secretary of State John Kerry’s stepson, Christopher Heinz.
That private equity firm was named Bohai-Harvest RST (BHR).
Steve Hilton says Biden “ended up as a swampy stooge for Beijing, China.”
