Trump: Dems Shoving ‘Green New Deal’ into Coronavirus Crisis Package

‘This is not about the ridiculous Green New Deal,’ Trump said

President Donald Trump blasted congressional Democrats for using the coronavirus rescue package to push for policies in the ‘Green New Deal.’

Trump wrote on Twitter: “This is not about the ridiculous Green New Deal.”

“It is about putting our great workers and companies BACK TO WORK!”

Trump criticized Democrats for pushing solar and wind tax credits along with alternative fuel mandates for the airlines amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The president also slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for blocking the deal with the Senate.

“The Democrats want the Virus to win?” he asked on Twitter.

“They are asking for things that have nothing to do with our great workers or companies,” Trump added.

“They want Open Borders and Green New Deal. Republicans shouldn’t agree!”

The Democrats voted to block a crucial bipartisan bill aimed at providing economic relief to Americans amid the global coronavirus pandemic on Monday.

Senate Democrats blocked the critical $2 trillion coronavirus economic relief package in a 47-47 vote on Sunday night.

But Trump later appeared optimistic a deal could be reached.

“They have to get together and just stop with the partisan politics, and I think that’s happening,” Trump said during a press conference at the White House.

“It’s not really a choice. They don’t have a choice. They have to make a deal.”

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are currently continuing to negotiate on a massive rescue package.

But Mnuchin left Capitol Hill without a deal despite Schumer’s insistence Democrats would reach an agreement on Monday.

But optimism was signaled by both parties that a $2.5 trillion rescue plan deal could be reached by Tuesday.

Republicans expressed outrage that Democrats are taking too long while lives are lost.

Mitch McConnell blasted the Democrats saying, “this has got to stop, and today is the day it has to stop.”

“The country is out of time.”

Pelosi also came under fire for her coronavirus ‘plan,’ which included giving foreign refugees living overseas millions in American taxpayer’s money.

The package would have given relief to American workers, citizens, and small businesses.

But the Democrats blocked that package, favoring their plans to increase taxpayer funding to foreign refugees.

Pelosi’s plan includes a designation of $300 million in American taxpayers, which will go to foreign refugees.
