Trump to CUT California’s FEMA Money ‘Unless They Get Their Act Together’

President threatens to slash Federal Emergency Management Agency funds

President Donald Trump has warned California he will cut its Federal Emergency Management Agency funds unless ‘they get their act together.’

The President said money was being wasted poor forest management in Tweet on Wednesday morning.

“Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen,” Trump said.

“Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money. It is a disgraceful situation in lives & money!”

Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif. said he had sent a letter to federal government along with the governors of Oregon and Washington requesting help tackling “unprecedented” wildfires.

“We have been put in office by the voters to get things done, not to play games with lives,” he said.

“Disasters and recovery are no time for politics. I’m already taking action to modernize and manage our forests and emergency responses. The people of CA — folks in Paradise — should not be victims to partisan bickering,” he added.

In November, the death toll in Northern California’s Camp Fire reached 42, with hundreds missing, making it the worst wildfire in the state’s history.

The campfire led to the evacuation of more than 50,000 homes and scorched more than 148,000 acres of land.

The other wildfire, Woolsey Fire, burned through areas near Los Angeles.

Trump authorized FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) to assist firefighters attempting to battle the infernos last year.

The massive wall of flames, which has left one dead and many injured, is headed towards 90,000 residents as firefighters battle to stop it.

Finnish President Sauli Niinisto told Trump in Paris:

“I mentioned [to] him that Finland is a land covered by forests and we also have a good monitoring system and network,” Niinisto told a paper in his country.

“We take care of our forests.”

California Governor Jerry Brown lashed out in response to the wildfires insisting climate change, and its so-called deniers – including President Trump -, are to blame for the fires.

Brown was speaking in response to Trump’s widely criticized statement in which he blames poor forest management for the deadly blaze.
