Trump tweeted on Sunday night:
“WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF.”
Once the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommended that once the 15-day guidance period transpires, the White House “WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!” Trump added.
Last week, the White House asked the public to self-quarantine, declaring “15 Days to Slow the Spread” of the novel coronavirus.
The measure would come to an end around March 31.
The White House coronavirus task force, Drs. Anthony Fauci, Surgeon General Jerome Adams, and Deborah Birx have urged people to isolate and have warned of the risk of infection.
The Wall Street Journal described last week as “a rolling economic calamity” as costs to individuals and businesses grow “by the hour.”
Trump said during a televised press conference on Sunday:
“We’ll get a pretty good idea what we’re doing” at the end of the 15-day period.
“You know there will be a point at which we say: ‘We’re back in business, let’s go.’”

Sen. Lindsey Graham estimated that the virus had shut down nearly three-quarters of the economy, leaving millions “virtually” unemployed.
Meanwhile, Sen. Rick Scott called for a 30-day coronavirus recovery plan.
“Americans are scared because of the uncertainty the Coronavirus has brought,” Scott wrote.
“Small businesses are closing, people feel isolated, and there’s no end in sight,” he added.
The number of new coronavirus cases in the United States on Monday surpassed 35,000, making it the third-highest number of infections in the world, behind China and Italy.
The death toll from the COVID-19 virus also reached 471, the sixth highest in the world.
